Subject: Live Action got even suckier UPDATE

Hi,

The first screenshots of the DragonBall live action trailer have appeared. This is the first time we have a picture of... Piccolo!! o_O He's not green like we first believed.

There's also new promotional material... a poster featuring Bulma (Emmy Rossum) and an image of "Piccolo" (James Marsters)

Update: Two new promo pictures have appeared of Goku and Roshi. (4 Sep)

Well... James Marsters ("Piccolo") was my only hope for this movie and with this all my hope is gone.

Hi,

More has been translated from the artical of the Roadshow magazine featuring the DragonBall movie. This is what Chow Yun-Fat had to say;

“(About his character) He is funny, very funny. (laugh) This is the first time to play a manga character in my career. Comic and movie is different, so I hope you will like my acting.”
“The script was very well written, I didn’t worry about it. Character is very fascinating and dramatic. The important thing for an actor is not money or work, but whether the character is fascinating or not.”
“(About his character) He and I love ladies. But my wife is always around me, so I can’t be looking at ladies so much.”
“(About Chatwin) I think he is handsomer than the manga character. I’m sure that the fans of the original manga will love him. And you guys, what did you think when you heard I would play Master Roshi?”
“Who do you think suits the role of Master Roshi?”
Interviewer: "NO! Chow Yun-Fat is best!"
"Cheers! I will treat you to dinner later. Anyway, the movie is an adventure following the original manga and animation. Thank you for your support."

Emmy Rossum was also questioned. Here's what she had to say.

"I am a big fan of Bulma. Because she is very energetic, sexy, and has a strong will. I think it is an honor to play the girl who is drawn as one of the smartest girls in the world. I will make the best use of her intellect, high motivation and reckless character which are drawn in the original in my acting. But because this is the live action movie, I have to do a little more three-dimensional acting."
"I hope I can rightly play Bulma who the fans saw and loved, and I want to make them happy. I know how much responsibility I have, and I have a great love for her. I think I resemble her. Both of us will do what we decide to do, and we are fascinated with the boys. And we have a passion for the goal of our life and carry a torch for it."
“(About Chatwin)I think he is wonderful. He acts the change of Goku growing up gradually very well. He, as well as us, was researching quite a lot to be able to play Goku properly.”

The magazine also released a summary of the plot:
After Grandpa Gohan’s dying request, Goku starts on a journey to find Master Roshi and gather the seven Dragon Balls to prevent the desire of Lord Piccolo to take over the world. In the course of his journey, Goku meets Bulma and using her Dragon Radar, they find Dragon Balls on the way. Goku arrives to Master Roshi, and he fights with Roshi. Looking at Goku’s fighting technique, Roshi finds that Goku is a grandson of Gohan. Master Roshi was Gohan’s master. Goku receives rigorous training from Master Roshi, and after a long journey, Goku approaches Lord Piccolo for the last time.

Subject: DragonBall Z Special update

Hey,

A new image has appeared of the DragonBall Z anime special. It shows the new character Table, and also Goku in casual clothing! What do you think?

Subject: DragonBall live action + information

So, I worked hard today. I made the following for the live action page:

Actors about Dragonball : The actors talk about their experiences on the set, what they did for their role and of course about DragonBall itself.

I will upload more info as soon as I translate them from the dutch part!

Oh yeah, Justin Chatwin also talked about the movie again.

"In preparation for the role, of course I read the original manga (all of it), in addition, I read Monkey King a little, because Dragonball is based on Monkey King. And during the break time of shooting, I got into Goku’s character, telling jokes with other cast in search of the real communication which can be used in acting."

"This is the most interesting movie for me. Because I have never fought with anyone though, I trained martial arts and acrobat, and then we shot it. That’s fun as well as challenging. Fighting with Eriko (Tamura), she punched me in the face, actually she intended to hit lightly, but…it was a clean hit (laugh) She said “I’m sorry!” and apologized to me, but thanks to her, we could shoot very powerful action scene. Through this work, I think I could learn a lot of things."

"Highlights of this movie are the action scenes, and amazing visual effects will be made at post production, so I’m looking forward to see it. About Kamehameha I only can imagine it now. I’m so excited. And this movie is the coming-of-age story about a boy, though this is set in a sci-fi world, in my opinion, my best scene is the moment when the characters who got together for the same purpose relate to each other."

There's also more news about the DragonBall Z Special!!

The three villains of the special have been revealed. These are Table (Tâbaru), Aba and Kado. The translation of Daizenshuu EX:

"Table and Avo & Cado, opposing enemies!
You can tell that Table is a Saiyan from his tail. He's similar to a certain person in facial features, but...!? Also, Abo and Kado, in pursuit of Table, arrive on Earth!!"

I also translated one of the dutch info articles into english. This is the DragonBall Z information Goku's fear.

Subject: New live action photo's (UPDATE) & DBZ special

First of all, I know there was a lot of news this weekend but the reason it's online today is because I was attending a convention last Saturday. :P

There's also new information. Mostly of the pages I just linked. So was the actor called Texas Battle (Carey Fuller) interviewed.

"As far as Dragon Ball, all you’ve got to do is say Dragon Ball and there it is. It’s supposed to be one of the biggest adaptation movies over sees in Asia, as well as in the States. It’s a huge budget, and from Twentieth Century Fox. I’ve been in their movies since I started my career. We’re looking for that to blow up, and definitely there’s going to be sequels, and a trilogy if everything goes right. I’m looking forward to it. I play a character named Carey Fuller, and me and Goku, who is played by Justin Chatwin are going to get into it a little bit, because I don’t like him and he tries to steal my girlfriend, Chi Chi. And I’m not going to go out without a fight."

Shocking... D; ChiChi dating someone BEFORE Goku?! A guy called Carey?! Goku who's actively chasinf after ChiChi instead of the other way around? Did they watch the first Spiderman or something? Gaaawd. D;

This guy also says there's gonna be a sequal and possibly a trilogy. ....yay....

The guy doing the storyboard (Dan Fraga) was asked a couple of things too.
He is hoping for a R (Rated) rating. Wow, something positive at last! But it will most probably turn out to be PG-13.

Justin Chatwin had the following to say about his role;
"I am very honored to be able to play Goku. When I am playing gentle and loving Goku, I feel as if I am given energy from him. In the movie, I have a lot of great action scenes. After the movie is finished post production, I’ll get to see my Kamehameha appear on the screen, and I get very excited when I imagine that."

Chow Yun-Fat: "On my career as an actor, it is my first time to play a manga character. Dragonball is read all over the world, have many hard core fans. I hope they won’t be disappointed by my acting (laugh). But to be honest with you, I’m totally satisfied with my performance as Master Roshi."

Emmy Rossum: "It is a very exciting thing for me to play Bulma, because I’m a big fan of her myself. She’s intelligent, motivated and has a short temper like a teenager. I really want to make all the fans of her happy."

Joon Park: "I like Dragonball very much because I read it when I was child (He was 15 when the manga came out in JAPAN, lol), so when I got to audition I begged the director to “Please give me any small part, like a man carrying sandbags behind the screen.” (laugh) Furthermore, there is Chow Yun-Fat who is my hero from when I was child. This is a dream role for me."

Woow, finally a normal update... XD

For starters I've put new DragonBall Z clips online on Youtube, all in japanese of course! These are 3 clips of the Tenkaichi Budoukai Saga and 6 clips of the Fusion Saga!! Have fun watching them :3

I also made a lot of new journal icons, and I made new sub catagories and deleted the "Group" catagory.

I also made new PNG's, and fused PNG's and "PSD's" together. It was almost the same thing. I added two that I enlarged, re-inked and re-coloured myself. Have a look!

The image folio has also been updated, now with new cels, characer designs, cosplay, doujinshi, genga and images.

There's also more live action news... a new photo appeared of the stunt-double of Emmy Rossum (Bulma) on a motorcycle. There are also rumours saying that the teaser trailer isn't that far away...
